Hejaz Railway Armoured Railcar
1:50 Scale Model by Alexander Bondar

The Hejaz Railway, which ran from Damascus to Medina, was the primary logistic route for the Ottoman Army in Palestine. With the increasing unrest among the Bedouin tribes in Arabia during WW1 the trains were an obvious target for raids and sabotage. To protect the trains from raids German engineers constructed a number (at least 4) armoured railcars from Ehrhardt armoured trucks. These were introduced in 1917 and served until the end of the war.
